Chocolate Havanese

Cheese Please !


  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (250ml)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese(250ml)
  • 1/3 cup softened margarine (83ml)
  • 3 Tbsp. milk (45ml)
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder (2.5ml)
  • 1 tsp. minced parsley (5ml)

    Cream together margarine and shredded cheese. Add the flour, milk, garlic, parsley and knead by hand to make a large soft ball of dough. Roll or pat out to about 1/4" thick and cut out into 1 inch bite-sized squares or shape with small cookie cutters. If you prefer a quicker method, simply roll into marble size balls, then flatten to 1/4 inch. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or till the edges brown. Cool. Note: If cutting out larger cookies, baking time will increase to 20 minutes or longer.
