Baked liver


  • 1 pound package beef or calf liver (454g)
  • garlic salt

    preparation instructions

    Cut liver into large pieces. Cook in boiling well salted water till just cooked. Pat dry with paper towel and spread out on foil lined baking sheet. Sprinkle lightly with garlic salt (not garlic powder). Bake at 350 for 20 to 30 minutes, turning once during baking. Salt other side before returning to oven. You want the liver cooked through; dry but not brittle, about the consistency of a pencil eraser.

    Note - these will make the house reek of garlic and liver so choose your baking day carefully

    These freeze well and break easily into tiny training treat size pieces, a good recipe for show or training bait.
