BEFORE AND AFTER - MORE COLOUR CHANGES

COLOUR CHANGE - CHOCOLATE & TAN (silvered)

Bred by BedoHavs, Linois was born a medium reddish chocolate colour with light tan points. Linois' coat lightened significantly and
then darkened back up slightly and finally settled to the light mocha brown colour he is now. His tan points turned cream.

COLOUR CHANGE - BLACK BELTON

Bred by MistyTrails, young Splash looks like a typical Black Particolour Havanese. At 9 months of age you can see wisps of black threading through
his back and rump. A haircut at one year of age shows just how much ticking there is. Splash is a moderately-heavy ticked Black Belton

COLOUR CHANGE - SABLE (with mask)

Bred by Havana kennels in Canada, Annie sports a heavy dark mask which covers her muzzle and ears. She also has a dark dorsal strip, dark paws and tail. At 6 months old, the tipping is much lighter and you can see a creamy coat underneath. At 7 months old, just after a haircut, you can see that Annie's undercoat is a creamy gold and that she still has some black around her muzzle. Her body coat will likely continue to lighten to a champagne colour.

COLOUR CHANGE - RED SABLE PARTICOLOUR

Catie bred by Lynyear Havanese and owned by Kendra and Harry of K&H. Born dark mahogany, at 4 months Catie's colour has softened
to a bright auburn. At 7 months the red has softened even more significantly but there are still obvious traces of red in her coat.

COLOUR CHANGE - SABLE and WHITE

Bred by Sineade Kennels, owned and loved by Lu Wyland is pretty little Mira. Mira was born a mix of deep red sable, caramel and white. At 6
months of age, her undercoat coat was creamy off-white with subtle red highlights and a small degree of black tipping. At 3 years of age, her
colour has deepened again and displays a subtle dark overlay along with a red top coat and cream undercoat. This colour combination is
sometimes nicknamed Trisable though that is a description only and not an official name or registration colour. Very unusual and pretty.

COLOUR CHANGE - RED SABLE

This is European bred Emma. See how her final colour is so similar to Mira above and yet how different they were as young puppies.
Emma was a bright red at birth with minimal black tipping. At 5 years old Emma is still beatifully red with minimal colour fading.
If you look at the babies she is nursing , you can see one cream puppy, and two very dark mahogany red ones.

COLOUR CHANGE - GOLD BRINDLE PARTICOLOUR

Adventurous 10 week old Tiger (owned by Dina Planche) is busy exploring. By 5 months of age Tiger's coloured patches have softened to an intriguing mix of black, gold, red and silver. The silvering gene has been at work and you can see how much his face has already faded. Around 6 months of age a new development is taking place. Where Tiger's coat was originally white along his back, a broad golden dorsal stripe is growing in. By 9 months, the gold dorsal stripe is getting darker and more prominent as are the silver brindle patches on his side. It will be interesting to see how much more change is to come.

COLOUR CHANGE - CHARCOAL/DARK SILVER

Pixie from Elfin Havanese set out to delight and confuse everyone with her many colour changes. Starting out deep black; by 8 months
of age she had turned a reddish mahogany brown. Was she perhaps a Havana Brown like Yola on Gallery 14? Pixie wasn't done yet with
her colour games. As you can see, in Pixie's case, the brown colour stage was simply a stepping stone on the way to her final colour.

COLOUR CHANGE - SILVER

Jamaica from Arizona's R'Gang , born black, already by 6 weeks was showing distinctive signs of silvering around the muzzle.
As a youth, Jamaica's coat lightened to a silvery pewter colour. The colour is only slightly lighter as an adult.

COLOUR CHANGE - SILVER

Cinders from Hugabrew kennel was born black, started silvering early and reached a medium/dark silver colour by adolescence.
Her colour continued to lighten further as she matured. See the contrast between her adult silver coat and her black puppies.
